DJI Mavic 3 Pro Drone Overview

The DJI Mavic 3 Pro price in Kenya is KShs 277,500. Its appeal is three cameras on one stabilised aircraft: a large-sensor wide camera for the overall scene, a medium tele for subject separation and a longer tele for distant detail. Compare the DJI Mavic 4 Pro Drone if you need the newer 6K camera and Infinity Gimbal; Mavic 3 Pro remains worth considering when its particular kit meets your production needs.

Choose the focal length before choosing the shot

The 20MP Hasselblad wide camera has a 4/3 sensor, 24mm-equivalent lens and adjustable f/2.8–f/11 aperture. It suits broad landscapes and building exteriors, with aperture control useful for exposure decisions. The 48MP medium tele uses a 1/1.3-inch sensor and 70mm-equivalent f/2.8 lens for a tighter, approximately 3x view. The 12MP tele uses a 1/2-inch sensor and 166mm-equivalent f/3.4 lens for approximately 7x framing.

Those are separate cameras with different sensors and lenses, not one continuous optical zoom. The longest view is useful for picking details from a scene, but does not have the same sensor size or aperture as the main camera. RAW photographs are supported in normal photo modes; Explore mode has different limitations.

Video modes and the important Cine distinction

The main Hasselblad camera records up to 5.1K/50fps and 4K/120fps slow motion. The medium and long tele cameras reach 4K/60fps. Choose the camera around both your framing and required frame rate. D-Log on the main camera and D-Log M/HLG options support more deliberate editing workflows; use Normal when rapid turnaround matters more than grading flexibility.

Both packages listed here contain the regular Mavic 3 Pro, with 8GB internal storage, approximately 7.9GB usable. Neither is the Mavic 3 Pro Cine. The DJI RC Pro controller does not add Apple ProRes recording or a 1TB SSD to the aircraft. Add a compatible microSD card for normal production recording rather than relying on the small internal buffer.

Standard DJI RC kit or Fly More with RC Pro?

  • Standard Kit (DJI RC): includes the aircraft, screen-equipped DJI RC, one battery, three low-noise propeller pairs, 65W Portable Charger, USB 3.0 Type-C cable, storage cover and spare controller sticks. It provides the three-camera platform with a lighter accessory commitment.
  • Fly More Combo (DJI RC Pro): includes DJI RC Pro, three batteries in total, six low-noise propeller pairs, 100W USB-C adapter with AC power cable, two USB-C cables, 100W charging hub, storage cover, ND8/16/32/64 filters, shoulder bag and controller sticks. Choose it when repeated flights, filtration and a more capable controller are useful to your work.

Both controllers have built-in screens. RC Pro offers a brighter 1,000-nit display for outdoor use, while DJI RC is a simpler screen-equipped choice. The Fly More camera remains the same; the extra value is in the controller and supporting kit. Check the exact selected package’s price and availability above.

Flight planning and battery turnaround

DJI quotes up to 43 minutes of flight under controlled maximum-endurance testing. Allow less time for filming, wind and manoeuvres, and retain sufficient battery to return and land. At about 958g before extra accessories, this is a substantial folding camera drone. The Fly More bag helps carry the kit, but a smaller DJI Air 3S Drone may suit a lighter two-camera travel setup.

Charging takes approximately 96 minutes with DJI’s 65W charger or 70 minutes with its 100W adapter under the stated conditions. Extra batteries make turnaround easier, but three batteries still mean separate flights. Omnidirectional sensing, APAS 5.0 and ActiveTrack 5.0 assist flight and subject following in supported conditions. Do not rely on sensing to find every wire or thin branch, especially in poor light.

Who is this kit for?

Mavic 3 Pro suits photographers and filmmakers who will use more than one native focal length on the same outing. It is less compelling if you mainly need a small portrait-content drone or only shoot wide views. Before ordering, decide whether one battery is enough, whether you need the Fly More filters and bag, and whether RC Pro’s screen is worth the package difference. Consult DJI’s official Mavic 3 Pro support and specifications for current camera-mode and compatibility details.

Three native viewpoints24mm, 70mm and 166mm-equivalent cameras cover wide scenes and progressively tighter framing.

Pros

  • Three cameras make a varied sequence possible without changing aircraft.
  • Large main sensor and adjustable aperture offer useful exposure control.
  • RAW photos and log/HLG video options support editing.
  • Both packages include a controller screen and mains charger.
  • Fly More includes filters as well as extra batteries and carrying accessories.
  • Folding design makes a multi-camera aircraft easier to transport.

Cons

  • 958g aircraft is substantially heavier than Mini models.
  • RC Pro bundle is not Cine: no Apple ProRes or 1TB SSD.
  • Tele cameras have different sensor sizes and lower maximum frame rates than the main camera.
Is the RC Pro Fly More Combo the Cine version?

No. RC Pro names the controller. Both options here contain the regular Mavic 3 Pro with 8GB internal storage. Apple ProRes and the built-in 1TB SSD belong to Mavic 3 Pro Cine.

Can all three cameras shoot 5.1K or 4K/120fps?

No. The main Hasselblad camera supports 5.1K/50fps and 4K/120fps slow motion. The medium and long tele cameras reach 4K/60fps.

What is the difference between 3x and 7x?

They select different native camera viewpoints: approximately 70mm and 166mm equivalent, compared with the 24mm wide camera. Further digital zoom crops the image; this is not a continuous optical zoom lens.

What does the Fly More RC Pro package add?

It replaces DJI RC with RC Pro and includes three batteries total, six propeller pairs, a 100W adapter and hub, ND8/16/32/64 filters, shoulder bag and supporting cables. Standard has one battery and a 65W charger.

Do both packages include a charger?

Yes. Standard includes DJI’s 65W Portable Charger. Fly More includes a 100W USB-C adapter and battery charging hub. Check that the supplied AC lead suits your mains connection.

Is a phone needed to see the live image?

Both DJI RC and DJI RC Pro have built-in displays. RC Pro has a brighter 1,000-nit screen. Connectivity is still needed for initial activation, updates and relevant online services.

Can I use the internal storage for a full shoot?

The regular aircraft has approximately 7.9GB usable internal storage, which is a limited buffer for high-resolution footage. Add a supported microSD card and plan regular backups.

Does 43-minute flight time mean 43 minutes of filming?

No. It is a controlled maximum-endurance figure. Recording, movement, wind and the battery reserve for returning and landing reduce practical session time.

Does obstacle sensing work without limitations?

No. Vision-based sensing needs suitable lighting and surfaces. Thin branches, wires and other difficult obstacles may be missed. Supervise tracking and keep a clear route.
