The Samsung DU9000 98-inch price in Kenya: KShs 305,000. This Crystal UHD television puts a very large picture at the centre of a lounge, entertainment room or shared viewing space. Its appeal is screen area combined with 4K 120Hz input support. If Mini LED contrast control is a priority, compare the Samsung QN80F before choosing purely by diagonal size.
The Kenya-region UA98DU9000UXKE is approximately 218.1cm wide. With the stand, it measures about 129.8cm high and 40.2cm deep and weighs 53.4kg. Its packaged weight is 76kg, with a carton approximately 236.9 × 140.4 × 27.5cm. Check doors, stairs, lift dimensions and the final positioning area before arranging delivery.
Samsung lists a basic stand footprint of 150.56 × 40.23cm and a minimum stand position of 45.56 × 40.23cm. A narrow feet position does not make the television narrow: the supporting furniture must safely accommodate its width and weight. Wall mounting uses a 600 × 400mm VESA pattern and needs a suitably rated bracket, appropriate wall fixings and installation support. Select the configuration to check its current price and availability.
Crystal Processor 4K and Supersize Picture Enhancer apply processing intended for this large screen. Upscaling, noise reduction and sharpness adjustment help ordinary sources, but poor-quality video becomes easier to notice when enlarged. A reliable high-quality stream or 4K source makes a meaningful difference. Samsung lists HDR10+ support and Filmmaker Mode; Dolby Vision is not listed.
The DU9000 is an LED LCD television, not an OLED or a QLED model. UHD Dimming is Samsung’s processing designation and should not be treated as proof of Mini LED local-dimming hardware. Compare the Hisense U7H catalogue if you want another large-screen option, checking the exact size’s backlight, gaming support and installation requirements.
Samsung’s regional specification lists a 100Hz panel rating and accepts 4K 120Hz on all three HDMI inputs. VRR, ALLM and FreeSync Premium support compatible gaming, while Game Bar provides access to game settings. The console or PC, game, cable and selected input settings must support the intended mode; these features do not make every game run at 120 frames per second.
There are two USB-A ports, Ethernet, optical audio, Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.2. HDMI eARC provides a connection to a compatible soundbar or receiver. Count the three HDMI sockets against your decoder, consoles and sound system so you do not discover a connection shortage after installation.
Tizen offers supported apps and connected features, with a Samsung account required for the full smart-TV experience. Services vary by country; do not assume overseas TV Plus or Gaming Hub demonstrations apply to Kenya. Internet access and paid subscriptions are separate. Apple AirPlay supports compatible sharing.
The built-in audio is 20W stereo. OTS Lite provides virtual processing, while Q-Symphony can combine the TV speakers with a compatible Samsung soundbar. A soundbar is purchased separately and can be worth considering for a viewing area large enough to accommodate a 98-inch screen.
The standard package includes the television, stand components, TM2360E remote, power cable and documentation. Confirm the supplied remote’s charging method; do not assume disposable batteries or a charging cable are included. A wall bracket, HDMI cable and professional installation are separate unless explicitly included in the offer.
