Sony BRAVIA XR X90L 4K Full Array LED TV Overview
The Sony BRAVIA XR X90L price in Kenya: Ask for the current price. Select 55, 65, 75, 85 or 98 inches for current price and availability. The X90L is a picture and gaming step above the Sony BRAVIA 3 S30, adding full-array local dimming, Cognitive Processor XR and 4K/120Hz input.
Full-array contrast and XR processing
The X90L adjusts backlight zones behind the image to separate highlights from dark areas. Cognitive Processor XR, XR Clear Image and XR 4K Upscaling work on incoming detail and noise; XR Triluminos Pro handles colour. This combination suits a mixture of films, sport and ordinary television. A clean source still matters: processing cannot restore everything missing from a heavily compressed stream.
Dolby Vision, HDR10 and HLG are supported. Local dimming remains different from individually lit OLED pixels: bright subtitles can produce blooming in a dark scene. This is a Full Array LED television, not Mini-LED or OLED. Choose a suitable picture mode and consider reflections from windows when positioning it.
Which X90L size should you choose?
55 inches suits a compact lounge; 65 inches adds film immersion without the installation demands of the largest screens. The 75-inch option fills more of a larger seating area’s view. At 85 or 98 inches, plan wall space, furniture and delivery access, including turns and lifts. Every selection remains 4K, so poor-quality sources become more obvious as the image grows.
The 65-inch reference is approximately 1445 mm wide and weighs 25 kg with its stand. Its stand is about 1209 mm wide and 345 mm deep, with a 300 × 300 mm VESA pattern. A raised stand position can accommodate a soundbar. These are 65-inch measurements; other sizes need their own installation sheet.
4K/120Hz gaming and HDMI planning
The X90L accepts 4K at up to 120Hz on the appropriate inputs. Sony’s regional sheet lists a 100Hz panel rating alongside explicit 100/120Hz signal support. VRR and ALLM operate on HDMI 3 and 4. PS5-specific Auto HDR Tone Mapping and Auto Genre Picture Mode simplify compatible console setup.
HDMI 3 also handles eARC, so a soundbar can occupy one of the two high-frame-rate connections. Four HDMI sockets do not mean four identical 4K/120Hz paths. Use a compatible source and suitable cable, and check the HDMI signal-format setting when enabling advanced gaming features. This is a useful distinction when planning both a PS5 and another console.
Google TV and external audio
Google TV brings supported apps and recommendations together, with Chromecast built in and Apple AirPlay/HomeKit support. Internet service, accounts and paid subscriptions are separate; app availability depends on region. The supplied voice remote helps find programmes without typing every title.
Acoustic Multi-Audio uses full-range speakers and positioning tweeters. The 65-inch reference totals 30W and supports Dolby Atmos processing. Voice Zoom 2 assists dialogue presentation; eARC supports an appropriate external sound system. Acoustic Center Sync requires a compatible Sony soundbar and should not be assumed to work with every audio brand. BRAVIA CAM is optional.
Package and installation
The package includes the TV, tabletop stand, voice remote, batteries, AC power cord and setup documentation. Buy a wall bracket and signal cables to suit the installation rather than assuming they are supplied. Check Sony’s official X90L reference specifications and match the exact size. The official Sony video introduces the series’ picture, gaming and design features.

Is the X90L Mini-LED or OLED?
Neither. It is a Full Array LED LCD television with local dimming. The backlight controls zones rather than individual pixels.
Can the X90L display 4K at 120Hz?
Yes. Sony explicitly lists 4K/120Hz signal support. Use the appropriate input, compatible source and cable, and configure the HDMI signal format correctly.
Which ports support VRR and ALLM?
Sony lists VRR and ALLM on HDMI 3 and 4. HDMI 3 also serves eARC, so plan carefully when connecting a soundbar and multiple gaming sources.
