LG B5 4K OLED TV 55-inch

LG B5 4K OLED TV Overview

The LG B5 4K OLED TV price in Kenya is KShs 172,500. It is worth considering when your priority is OLED contrast and 4K 120Hz gaming within a carefully chosen budget. Compare the LG C5 OLED if you want its different processor, 144Hz VRR capability and stronger built-in speaker package. For a backlit alternative, explore the LG QNED86 and compare the same screen size before deciding.

Self-lit OLED for films and games

The B5 controls light at pixel level, without a separate LED backlight. That is useful for dark film scenes, bright subtitles against a black background and games with dramatic lighting. Rather than relying on dimming zones, individual pixels can turn off. It is still sensible to consider room lighting and reflections when choosing where to place the screen.

The α8 AI Processor 4K Gen2 handles picture processing and upscaling. Dolby Vision, HDR10 and HLG are supported, while Filmmaker Mode provides a useful starting point for cinema-style viewing. HDR10+ is not listed. Use a good source where possible: an OLED panel cannot restore all the detail missing from a heavily compressed broadcast or stream.

Native 120Hz and a flexible gaming setup

The B5 has native 120Hz refresh and VRR up to 120Hz. NVIDIA G-SYNC compatibility, AMD FreeSync support, ALLM and Game Optimizer help with compatible gaming equipment. Dolby Vision gaming at 4K 120Hz is also supported. Actual performance depends on the source, game, cable and input settings; a high-refresh panel does not raise the frame rate of every game.

Four HDMI inputs support 4K 120Hz gaming features, with eARC on HDMI 3. This allows several sources to remain connected while a compatible soundbar handles audio. The regional reference also includes two USB ports, optical audio, Ethernet, Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth. If you are comparing with the C5, note that the B5’s VRR ceiling is 120Hz rather than 144Hz, and its eARC port number is different.

Choose 55, 65, 77 or 83 inches

The 55-inch is the smallest B5 option listed here. LG’s East Africa reference measures approximately 1,228mm wide and weighs 14.5kg with the stand. Its stand footprint is 1,057 × 235mm, so it needs a substantially wider support surface than a TV with a compact central pedestal. Check the position of both feet before choosing furniture.

The 65-inch expands the cabinet to around 1,449mm wide while retaining a published 1,057 × 235mm stand footprint. Its weight with the stand is 17.3kg. This makes it a practical step up in picture area, provided the full cabinet width and your viewing position suit the room.

The 77-inch increases width to approximately 1,719mm and stand footprint to 1,403 × 319mm. LG lists 23.5kg with the stand. It is better suited to wider furniture or a properly planned wall installation. The East Africa 55-, 65- and 77-inch references all list a 300 × 200mm VESA pattern, but the bracket’s weight capacity and correct screws still matter.

The 83-inch is the largest catalogue option and is also an official B5 size internationally. Request the exact supplied regional model and installation sheet before arranging delivery or mounting. Its stand and mounting requirements should not be copied from the 77-inch. Check the selected configuration’s current price and availability before ordering.

webOS, Magic Remote and everyday streaming

The B5 launched with webOS 25. LG’s East Africa references include the MR25 Magic Remote, with pointer-style navigation and supported voice features. Google Cast and AirPlay support compatible devices, while LG ThinQ provides another way to interact with the TV. Check your essential apps and language requirements for the supplied Kenyan unit.

Streaming subscriptions, internet access and accounts may be required. AI features, cloud-gaming services and overseas channel offers vary by country. A feature shown in an international video is not automatically a local subscription or service included with the television.

20W stereo sound and setup essentials

The physical speaker system is 20W and 2.0-channel. Dolby Atmos support and virtual sound processing do not add separate rear or height speakers to the box. The built-in system can handle ordinary viewing, while a compatible soundbar is worth considering if film impact and dialogue at higher volume are priorities. WOW Orchestra requires compatible LG equipment and is distinct from a standard eARC connection.

The standard package includes the selected TV and tabletop stand components; LG’s regional accessory list confirms the MR25 Magic Remote and attached power cable. Confirm small accessories and documentation with the supplied package. A wall bracket, HDMI cables and soundbar are separate unless your order explicitly includes them.

Follow LG’s OLED screen-care instructions and keep protective features enabled, especially for repeated static logos or desktop use.
