Palm take-off, subject-following features and built-in storage make it approachable for short personal videos. If your priority is a conventional aerial camera with longer flight endurance, compare the DJI Mini 3.
Neo 2 supports palm operation, gesture control and mobile-app control, with ActiveTrack and SelfieShot tools for recording people. Its onboard controls help you select a shot before take-off. Gesture control works in supported Follow and Spotlight modes, not while using a remote or motion controller. Use it with a clearly visible subject and suitable lighting; it is not a reason to leave the drone unattended. Human tracking should not be mistaken for reliable tracking of pets or other subjects.

Still images are JPEG and the colour mode is Normal. Neo 2 is therefore a simpler quick-sharing tool rather than a RAW photography or D-Log grading camera. If reframing a complete surrounding view is more important, consider the DJI Avata 360; that is a different, heavier system with a 360° editing workflow.
Neo 2 combines omnidirectional monocular vision with forward LiDAR and downward infrared sensing. This is useful when following a person, but wires, fine branches, glass, water, poor texture and difficult light can defeat sensing. Keep a clear route and maintain control. Propeller guards add a physical barrier around the propellers, but do not make the drone safe to grab while flying. The aircraft is not waterproof.
DJI quotes approximately 19 minutes of maximum flight without the propeller guards, or approximately 17 minutes with them, under specified test conditions and without the Digital Transceiver. Real filming time depends on the setup, wind, movement and landing reserve. Weight is approximately 151g without the Digital Transceiver or 160g with it.
Direct charging through the aircraft supports up to 15W and takes approximately 70 minutes in DJI’s test.
