Apple iPad Air 13-inch (M4) Wi-Fi + 12GB RAM / 1TB Storage

Apple iPad Air 13-inch (M4) Overview

The Apple iPad Air 13-inch (M4) price in Kenya is KShs 180,000. Select the storage, network and colour combination above to see its current price and ordering status.

Choose the 13-inch Air when your tablet spends much of its time on a desk: reading a full-page PDF, keeping notes beside course material, or reviewing a drawing with a client. It offers more room than the Apple iPad Air 11-inch (M4), while keeping the same M4 processor and memory. A larger screen makes these tasks more comfortable; it does not turn iPadOS into macOS.

M4 performance for study and creative work

The 8-core CPU, 9-core GPU and 12GB unified memory support demanding iPad apps alongside everyday documents, browsing and video calls. For an illustrator, the useful question is whether the chosen drawing app and canvas fit the workload; for a student, it is whether the course software has a suitable iPad version. Buying the largest capacity does not increase this model’s memory or CPU core count. Apple Intelligence support is included, with features depending on software, language and region.

A 13-inch canvas for writing and viewing

The laminated Liquid Retina IPS display brings the image close to the pen tip and adds an antireflective coating. This 2732 × 2048 panel reaches 600 nits and gives spreadsheets, timelines and sheet music more space. It is a 60Hz screen, without the OLED contrast and adaptive ProMotion of the Apple iPad Pro 13-inch (M5). Pick the Pro if those display qualities are central to your work rather than paying for them only to browse and take notes.

128GB, 256GB, 512GB or 1TB?

128GB suits a smaller local library with cloud-backed documents and streaming. Choose 256GB when you want more room for apps, downloaded lessons and photos without frequent housekeeping. 512GB suits larger offline media libraries or ongoing creative projects. 1TB is for buyers who already know they will keep substantial project files on the tablet. All four retain 12GB memory. Internal storage cannot be upgraded later; a USB-C drive helps move files but does not replace internal app storage.

Wi-Fi or Wi-Fi + Cellular in Kenya

Wi-Fi works well around home, campus and office networks, with a phone hotspot as an occasional fallback. Wi-Fi + Cellular adds direct mobile data and GPS/GNSS for travel and field use. Cellular models use eSIM rather than a physical SIM card: confirm iPad eSIM activation, coverage and plan costs with your Kenyan carrier before choosing. Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6 are present on both network versions, but real connection speeds depend on the router, service and surroundings. Cellular capability cannot be added to a Wi-Fi model later.

Pencil, keyboard and external-display choices

Apple Pencil Pro is the stronger drawing companion when pressure sensitivity, squeeze and barrel roll matter. Apple Pencil (USB-C) suits handwriting and PDF markup, but lacks pressure sensitivity and wireless charging. Both are sold separately; Apple Pencil 2 is not compatible. Use a Magic Keyboard explicitly made for the 13-inch iPad Air and check its generation compatibility rather than assuming an iPad Pro keyboard fits. USB-C supports transfers up to 10Gb/s and one external display up to 6K at 60Hz with suitable equipment.

Calls, battery and what to budget for

A landscape 12MP Center Stage camera frames calls naturally with a keyboard attached, while Touch ID is built into the top button. Apple rates battery life up to 10 hours of Wi-Fi browsing or video, or up to 9 hours of cellular browsing; brightness, apps and signal change real use. The tablet and 1m USB-C charge cable are the core box items. Apple’s US specification lists a 20W USB-C adapter; some regional packages omit it. Confirm the supplied box and plug with NextBuy before ordering. Apple Pencil, keyboard, case and mobile-data plan are separate.
