Xbox 360 E (Pre-owned) Overview
The Xbox 360 E (Pre-owned) price in Kenya is KShs 20,000. This second-hand Xbox 360 E suits players returning to Xbox 360 discs and local multiplayer favourites, rather than buying into the newest Xbox releases. Its later, boxier design gives you the established 360 platform with a choice of 4GB, 250GB or 500GB storage. Compare the used Xbox 360 S by condition, storage and connections; the E name does not unlock a newer generation of games.
A later Xbox 360 design, not an Xbox One
Xbox 360 E was introduced in 2013 with styling closer to Xbox One, but it remains an Xbox 360. It uses Xbox 360 games and compatible Xbox 360 accessories. Xbox One and Xbox Series-only games do not run on it, and the newer Xbox Wireless Controller is not a direct replacement for a 360 controller.
The disc drive is useful for an existing physical collection. Check the region compatibility and requirements of the exact game, particularly when comparing ex-UK or other imported stock. A familiar game name does not mean its Xbox One or Series edition will work on Xbox 360.
4GB versus 250GB and 500GB
The 4GB option is limited internal flash storage, not a 4GB hard drive with the same practical room as the larger configurations. It suits a narrowly chosen collection only after checking installation and save requirements. Some games or features require more storage or a compatible hard drive, so the lowest capacity is not automatically the best-value option.
The listed 250GB and 500GB versions provide substantially more room for game data, installations and existing downloads. Capacity does not improve the core graphics hardware. Usable space is below the nominal amount, and hard-drive history or replacement details should be checked on a used console. Do not assume a fixed number of games fits either capacity.
If original Xbox compatibility matters, verify the exact supported game and the presence of a compatible official Xbox 360 hard drive with the necessary compatibility data. The 4GB flash memory alone is not a substitute. General USB storage and the Xbox Series expansion-card system should not be confused with that requirement.
Buying games after the Xbox 360 Store closure
New purchases through the Xbox 360 Store ended on 29 July 2024. Previously purchased content can still be redownloaded, and existing games remain playable. Online multiplayer depends on each publisher’s servers. See Microsoft’s official closure notice.
For a used-console buyer, a compatible physical collection is therefore an important part of the plan. Use your own account for content you already own. Installed games and a previous owner’s profile are not promised licences, and this package does not include an account, paid-game collection or subscription. Check a must-have game before choosing the hardware.
HD connections and accessories
HDMI makes the E suitable for a television with a matching input, but its HD output should not be read as native 1080p at 60fps in every game. Rendering resolution and frame rate depend on the title. This is not a 4K gaming console or a Blu-ray movie player; compatible DVD playback is a separate use.
The E uses a different rear connection arrangement from the 360 S, so old AV leads and power supplies should not be assumed interchangeable. Check the exact connector and power specification before reusing accessories. A compatible Xbox 360 controller is required; Xbox One and Series controllers do not pair directly as substitutes. Kinect, if wanted for a supported game, is a separate accessory unless expressly included.
Used, ex-UK and refurbished condition
Look at the individual console rather than assuming its later design eliminates age-related wear. Ask about cosmetic marks, repairs, disc-drive operation, HDMI output, storage detection and controller sticks, buttons and battery contacts. Ex-UK describes sourcing, while refurbished should describe work performed; neither establishes manufacturer certification or a uniform condition grade.
This listing has a six-month NextBuy warranty under the NextBuy warranty policy. Factory artwork and review videos show the model, not the actual used unit. A condition check is especially useful if you are choosing the console to play a specific disc or use an existing accessory.
What the package provides and when to choose newer hardware
The listed package contains the selected Xbox 360 E and one controller. Confirm the matching external power supply and mains lead, display cable, controller battery arrangement and packaging. No Kinect sensor, headset, rechargeable battery kit or paid games are promised. Keep ventilation clear and use the power supply appropriate to the exact console.
Choose this model for the Xbox 360 experience you already want. If you need Xbox One games and compatible UHD movie discs, compare the pre-owned Xbox One S. The independent CNET video is a historical E-model review; its launch prices and online-service assumptions do not describe today’s used package.

Is Xbox 360 E an Xbox One?
No. It is a later Xbox 360 redesign and uses the 360 platform.
Which capacity should I choose?
4GB offers very limited flash storage. 250GB and 500GB leave more room for installations and game data; check each game’s requirements.
Is the 4GB option a hard-drive model?
The 4GB capacity is internal flash storage. Do not assume a separate compatible hard drive is included.
Can I buy new games through the Xbox 360 Store?
No. New Xbox 360 Store purchases ended on 29 July 2024. Plan around compatible discs and your own eligible existing purchases.
Can I still redownload my purchases?
Microsoft states previously purchased content remains available for redownload using the owning account.
Will online multiplayer still work?
It depends on the game publisher maintaining its servers and the relevant account requirements. Check your specific game.
Does it play Xbox One or Series games?
No. Those newer-generation releases are not Xbox 360 software.
Can I use an Xbox One or Series controller?
Not directly. Use a compatible Xbox 360 controller; the generations are not interchangeable.
Can it play original Xbox discs?
Only supported titles with the necessary compatibility setup and suitable official Xbox 360 hard drive. Verify the actual drive and game; 4GB flash alone is insufficient.
Does it play Blu-ray movies?
No. It is not a Blu-ray or Ultra HD Blu-ray player. Compatible DVD playback is supported.
Are Kinect and games included?
No. The package lists the console and one controller; Kinect and paid-game entitlements are not promised.
What cables and power supply do I need?
Use the correct Xbox 360 E power supply and a display connection suitable for your screen. Confirm which leads and adapter accompany the used unit.
Is it refurbished or ex-UK?
Ask about the actual unit’s sourcing and refurbishment work. It is listed as pre-owned; no uniform cosmetic grade or manufacturer certification is implied.
What warranty applies?
The listing provides six months of NextBuy warranty under the published warranty terms.
- Warranty coverage
- 6 months NextBuy warranty
