The DJI Osmo Mobile 7P price in Kenya is KShs 24,000. This smartphone stabiliser brings an extension rod, tripod and tracking module into one portable setup for presenters, vloggers and small-business videos. The included module can follow a person outside DJI Mimo and provides a nearby fill light, while the Vlog Combos add a wearable microphone for clearer spoken content. Compared with the lighter DJI Osmo Mobile 7, the 7P is better suited to creators who will regularly use those extra shooting tools.
Reach beyond an arm’s-length shot
The integrated extension rod extends up to 215mm, giving more room for a selfie composition, a slightly higher viewpoint or a lower-angle reveal. The rod folds back into the handle, so there is no separate selfie stick to pack. A built-in tripod supports stationary filming on a level, stable surface in still conditions.
At approximately 368g including the tripod, clamp and module, the 7P remains portable but is heavier than the basic 7. Add your phone’s weight when judging one-handed comfort. For a longer presentation, use a suitable support instead of holding the complete setup at full extension throughout.
Two different tracking methods
Within DJI Mimo, current ActiveTrack 8.0 software helps keep a selected subject framed. The included DJI OM Multifunctional Module offers a separate method: its own sensor follows a human subject while the phone records through a compatible native camera or third-party app. This is useful when your preferred recording or streaming app is outside Mimo.
Do not confuse the two systems. Module tracking is for people and needs a clear view of the subject; Mimo tracking features depend on the phone and software. Gesture controls let a solo presenter initiate tracking or adjust framing, but the module does not replace the phone’s autofocus or determine video resolution. Test the exact app and camera before a live session.
Light and audio for a presenter
The module’s adjustable fill light offers a 2500–6000K colour-temperature range. DJI specifies up to 40 lux at 0.6m, making it a close-range aid for a face rather than a room light. Adjust it to complement the existing lighting instead of expecting it to illuminate a distant subject.
For audio, a compatible DJI Mic Mini transmitter links to the module, which passes sound to the phone through the appropriate cable. The Vlog Combos include one transmitter; Standard does not. A short USB-C phone cable is supplied, while a compatible USB-C-to-Lightning recording cable is a separate requirement for a Lightning iPhone.
Controls that help you keep filming
The joystick and trigger handle framing and recentering, while the side wheel gives access to supported zoom or focus functions and module-light adjustment. Availability of phone camera controls depends on the device and app. Magnetic mounting also makes it quicker to remove the phone when you need to answer a call or review a clip.
Three-axis stabilisation smooths pan, tilt and roll, with Pan Follow, Pan and Tilt Follow, FPV and SpinShot modes for different movements. It helps with a shop tour, a walk-and-talk or a planned reveal, but deliberate footsteps remain important. The phone’s own exposure, lenses and image stabilisation still affect the final result.
Which 7P package makes sense?
Standard includes the gimbal, OM 7 Series magnetic clamp, Multifunctional Module, USB-C power cable, short USB-C phone/audio cable and pouch. Choose it if you already have a compatible microphone or mainly need stable pictures, human tracking and a little fill light.
Both Vlog Combos add one DJI Mic Mini transmitter with its charging dock, windscreens, clip magnet, compact pouch and charging cable. Arctic White and Infinity Black refer to the microphone and its matching dock, not a different gimbal specification. These are one-transmitter bundles, not a two-person microphone system with a separate receiver and charging case.
Check your phone and power requirements
Supported phone dimensions are 67–84mm wide and 6.9–10mm thick, with a weight of 170–300g. Include the case in those checks and remove accessories that interfere with secure clamping or the moving arms. The 3350mAh battery is rated for approximately ten hours in a balanced, stationary test without additional accessories. DJI quotes around five hours with module tracking and the light off, or four hours with tracking and maximum light. Powering the phone from the gimbal shortens those figures further. Charging takes about two and a half hours with a 10W USB-C charger; a wall adapter is not listed in these kits.
When to consider Osmo Mobile 8 instead
Choose the 7P when its supplied tracking module, extension rod and practical audio bundles meet your needs. Compare the DJI Osmo Mobile 8 if continuous 360-degree horizontal movement or supported Apple DockKit tracking is part of your intended workflow. The 7P has a limited pan range, so it is not a continuous-rotation replacement for the newer model.
