Apple MacBook Pro 16-inch (M5 Max)

Apple MacBook Pro 16-inch (M5 Max) Overview

The Apple MacBook Pro 16-inch (M5 Max) price in Kenya is KShs 551,000 – KShs 691,500Price range: KShs 551,000 through KShs 691,500. Choose this larger-screen M5 Max model for a non-touch Liquid Retina XDR workspace and the chosen processor bundle. Compare Apple MacBook Pro 16-inch (M5 Max) — PROLED XDR to separate the display-family decision from the chip name. Keep room in your budget for the storage, software and desk accessories your workflow needs.

The catalogue pairs the 18-core CPU / 32-core GPU with 36GB memory and 2TB SSD, or the 18-core CPU / 40-core GPU with 48GB memory and 2TB SSD. The higher option changes graphics resources and working memory together; it is not simply a larger SSD. Check the exact bundle rather than assuming every M5 Max has the 40-core GPU.

When this chip tier makes sense

Consider M5 Max for GPU-heavy rendering, complex video work or projects whose working-memory needs justify these bundles. Check that your software actually uses the available acceleration. For a mostly document-and-browser workload, compare a less expensive chip tier before spending on resources that may remain unused.

Display technology and glass finish

The 16.2-inch Liquid Retina XDR display is mini-LED and non-touch, with ProMotion adaptive refresh up to 120Hz. It is distinct from the touchscreen PROLED XDR family. Standard and Nano-texture are display-finish choices, not different chip tiers. Consider Nano-texture when reflections from windows or overhead lighting interfere with your work; Standard is worth considering in a controlled workspace. Match the chip, memory and SSD before comparing their prices. Follow Apple’s current cleaning instructions for the selected glass.

Screen space versus carrying size

Compare Apple MacBook Pro 14-inch (M5 Max) if you carry the laptop between locations frequently. A large built-in workspace is useful for timelines and side-by-side panels, but consider bag fit and desk space.

Connections, software and required extras

Thunderbolt 5, HDMI, SDXC, MagSafe and a headphone jack cover useful production connections. Check the manufacturer’s chip-specific external-display combinations, and select suitable cables and docks. Check your course or workplace software before buying. Confirm macOS and Apple silicon support for specialist applications, plug-ins, peripherals and any required Windows-only tools. A faster chip does not resolve an incompatible application or include a paid software licence. External drives, hubs and professional software are separate purchases.

Included charging equipment

The standard package includes the selected MacBook Pro and 2m USB-C to MagSafe 3 cable. Apple lists a 140W USB-C power adapter for these configurations; confirm the exact supplied regional unit and plug. Nano-texture packages also include a polishing cloth. Battery endurance varies with display settings and workload; a video-streaming maximum is not a rendering-runtime promise. See Apple’s official specifications and configuration-specific box list.
