QLED colour, AiPQ Pro and HDR

QLED Pro colour technology and the AiPQ Pro Processor support a colourful 4K picture with processing for detail, motion and contrast. Dolby Vision, HDR10+ and HLG support give the C655 flexibility across compatible streaming and video sources. HDR-format support does not by itself establish the brightness or contrast of a more expensive television.

The C655 and C655 Pro are different products. Do not transfer the Pro model’s advertised local-dimming zones to this standard C655 listing. Equally, the 98-inch version shown at the top of some global marketing pages should not be used to infer the refresh specification of the sizes sold here.

Why the selected size matters

The 50-inch option is the more compact configuration on this page. It should not be assumed to include the same integrated subwoofer or game-accelerator features as larger sizes. TCL’s global page specifically limits its ONKYO 2.1-channel system to 55-inch and larger models.

The 55-inch configuration is therefore worth considering for more than extra screen area: the reference adds the 2.1-channel audio arrangement. The 65-inch model provides a larger film and sports view, while 75 inches suits a broad viewing wall. The 85-inch version prioritises screen area and requires careful furniture, mounting-load and delivery-access checks.

Confirm the complete regional model, speaker output and mounting measurements for your selected size. A single series-wide wattage or stand dimension should not be treated as applying to every C655.

60Hz versus Game Accelerator

The selected 85-inch global specification lists 60Hz alongside VRR120Hz and DLG120Hz. TCL explains that Game Accelerator increases frame rate at reduced resolution. This is not the same as native 4K/120Hz performance. Supported accelerator modes also vary by size and region, so verify the 50-inch version separately.

ALLM and Game Master provide useful tools for compatible console play. If native 4K high-refresh gaming is essential, choose a model whose exact input specification confirms it. HDMI 2.1 wording alone is insufficient to establish 4K/120Hz support.

Google TV and size-dependent audio

Google TV brings supported apps and recommendations together. A reliable internet connection, the relevant accounts and any paid subscriptions are required. Voice functions and app availability depend on language and region; confirm your must-have services before buying.

On supported 55-inch-and-larger versions, ONKYO 2.1-channel audio includes a subwoofer arrangement for more bass than a basic stereo system. Dolby Atmos and DTS Virtual:X processing do not mean physical rear speakers are included. Check the selected unit’s eARC connection and soundbar compatibility if you plan to add external audio.

Package and installation

Check the selected C655 television, supplied stand components, remote control, power lead and documentation at delivery. Confirm the remote-battery package for the regional unit rather than assuming a universal battery count. Wall brackets and HDMI cables should be selected separately unless specifically bundled.
